💛Why do I love Story Imagin-ory so much? There are lots of children’s activity classes to choose from but Story Imagin-ory is the class I wish I could have taken my girls to when they were young. But why? 📚I love books and was keen to share my passion with my children. The sessions are based around stories and storytelling and help to create a life long love of reading 💫As an early years teacher I know the importance of developing communication, language and literacy skills and the sessions are full of opportunities to support with this- storytelling, sign language, songs and rhymes, early phonics, talking and playing together 📃🐾The classes bring books to life! From Page to Play- there’s puppets, props, musical instruments, a huge range of play activities linked to the theme. You get immersed in the story. ☀️Every week there is a new theme and letter sound so it stays exciting but the structure of the class and the little weekly songs and routines stay the same to help build familiarity and confidence 🌈The class has a good balance of adult led and free play. The first part of the session is all together and in the second part the children can explore all of the carefully planned activities. This also provides a good opportunity for the children and adults to socialise and build relationships. 🔍The practical play activities are amazing! All linked to the early years curriculum and with a support card to give ideas about how to use them. There’s a great balance of imaginative play, physical play, sensory activities, maths, creative, mark making… and more. The sessions are fun, rich in education and the environment is welcoming and supportive 🥰 💌Basically it’s my dream class and I’d love to share it with you and your little one! This summer, we have a range of holiday specials and regular classes start in September All information and booking options on the website (link in the bio) colchestersouthandwest.storyimaginory.co.uk #storyimaginorycolchestersandw
