Frequently asked questions

How does Jupiter differ from a traditional Indian bank account?

Jupiter offers zero fees on account and card, real-time spending analysis with automatic categorisation (transport, food, shopping), smart savings sub-accounts called Pots and instant transaction notifications — features rarely offered by traditional Indian banks.

Who is Jupiter's banking partner?

Jupiter operates through Federal Bank — a private bank regulated by the RBI with over 80 years of history and 1,400+ branches. Customer funds are held in a Federal Bank savings account and covered by the DICGC up to ₹5 lakh.

Does Jupiter offer investments?

Yes, Jupiter offers mutual fund investments directly in the app with no distribution commission. Equity, debt and hybrid funds are available from multiple fund houses. This allows customers to combine everyday banking and investing in one place.

How do Pots work in Jupiter?

Pots are separate savings sub-accounts for specific goals (a holiday, an emergency fund, new electronics). You can add funds manually or set automatic transfers after each incoming payment. Funds in Pots earn the same interest rate as the main savings account.

Is Jupiter available outside India?

No, Jupiter is available exclusively in India. An Aadhaar card and PAN card are required for KYC. The account can be opened fully digitally in a few minutes. There are no current plans for international expansion.
