Our client Zynk is the perfect example of a new breed of institutional digital asset fintech doing just that. They’ve just passed $2B+ in annualised volume, on a $20B+ pipeline, growing 70% month-on-month, with significant market share captured across corridors in APAC, UAE and North America. Through our work, Zynk has built deep relationships with key players across the institutional digital asset and payments ecosystem, spanning some of the biggest names in stablecoin infrastructure, cross-border payments and institutional capital markets. On July 18, US regulators quietly missed their one-year deadline under the GENIUS Act. Treasury, OCC, FDIC, NCUA and the Fed have issued ~10 proposals — none finalized. Most read that as failure. I'd call it an opening: an unfinished rulebook is an editable one, and the stablecoin yield ban everyone treats as settled is the clause most worth arguing about. Why it matters: the ban only binds issuers, not affiliates — hence Coinbase paying USDC holders via a revenue share with Circle. Meanwhile yield-bearing stablecoins grew from ~$1B (2023) to $19B (2025), driving over half of all market growth in Q1 2026. Compliant issuers can't compete on yield, so demand drifts offshore — outside any reserve or disclosure safeguards. That doesn't protect deposits, it just hides the risk. Europe's MiCA only launched July 1 and is already being reopened for review. Rules aren't as final as they look. At Paybis, we're watching this closely — my bet is the yield question gets revisited within 18 months, likely landing on disclosure rules and a narrow safe harbor instead of a flat ban. https://lnkd.in/eQRT49xN
