Getting the MiCA licence is a major milestone. But in practice, it is actually where the operational work starts. That was one of the themes from last night’s "MiCA Afterparty" in Vienna, hosted by DAAA | Digital Assets Association Austria and Accenture. The crypto industry has professionalised quite a bit over the past few years. Today the frameworks are in place, policies are written and regulated providers are operating under much clearer rules. But having the right policies is not enough. The real test is whether controls work consistently in day-to-day operations and in real customer journeys, without creating unnecessary friction. For smaller providers in particular, that can be a challenge. We need to stay compliant and safe without becoming overly bureaucratic. Regulation should raise standards, but the customer should not feel the complexity behind it. They should simply feel that the service is safe, clear and easy to use. For me, that is where much of the work around MiCA now moves: from licensing into operations. To get to the Bitcoin, you have to destroy the painting. We’re hiring a Managing Director (Head of MiCA Compliance & Legal) in Zug🇨🇭 As Cryptonow continues expanding across Europe, we’re looking for someone to take ownership of one of the most important parts of that growth: our regulatory and legal framework. You’ll own our MiCA licence end-to-end, act as a key point of contact with the FMA, lead our AML function and help shape the governance framework as the business scales. You’ll also be part of our Management Body and Board of Directors. The role sits right at the intersection of regulation and the business itself. You’ll work closely with Product, Operations, Finance and external counsel to turn regulatory requirements into practical ways of working and make sure compliance is built into new initiatives from the start.
