Curve is a smart card that consolidates all your bank cards into one Mastercard, with cashback, currency conversion, and 'Go Back in Time' spending features.

✦ Sentiment OverviewUpdated every month · Aug 19, 2026

Curve holds a solid 3.8/5 customer rating across major platforms, with sentiment remaining steady despite a NeoBase index of 53.7/100, down 3.4 points week-over-week. Recent headlines reflect cautious optimism around product expansion and strategic partnerships - notably Lloyds' acquisition and the Equifax collaboration for credit services - though media coverage leans toward neutral analysis of market dynamics rather than brand momentum. The modest sentiment decline suggests underlying skepticism even as the company pursues growth initiatives.

About Curve

Curve was founded in 2015 by Shachar Bialick. It offers a single Mastercard that can be linked to multiple existing debit and credit cards from any bank. Key features include 1% cashback, interbank exchange rates with no FX fees (within limits), and 'Go Back in Time' — the ability to switch which card paid for a transaction up to 30 days after purchase. Curve launched BNPL ('Curve Flex') in 2021.

Frequently asked questions

What is Curve and how does it work?

Curve is a Mastercard that sits on top of your existing bank cards. You load your debit/credit cards into the Curve app and pay with one physical or virtual Curve card. You then choose which underlying card gets charged.

Does Curve charge foreign transaction fees?

Curve offers fee-free spending at the Mastercard interbank rate up to £500/month (Curve Free plan). Above that, a 2% FX fee applies. Curve X and Black plans have higher or unlimited FX-free limits.

What is 'Go Back in Time'?

Go Back in Time lets you switch which card paid for a transaction up to 30 days after it happened. This is useful if you paid with the wrong card or want to move a purchase to a card with better rewards.

Does Curve replace my existing bank account?

No. Curve works alongside your existing accounts — it doesn't replace them. You must have at least one underlying bank card to use Curve.

Is Curve available outside the UK?

Curve is available in most EEA countries. It withdrew from the US market in 2022 to focus on European growth.
